Tomorrow morning Valhalla Barbell Club has four athletes from our Youth Team competing in Windsor, CO at the Colorado Youth State Championships. This is a one day meet held at Windsor High School with athletes ranging from 13 and Under all the way up to 17. At this contest the Snatch and Clean & Jerk will be tested with some attempting to qualify for USAW Youth Nationals which will be held at the end of June in 2019. The four athletes competing for Valhalla are Abigail Moore, Zachary Kenney, Logan Nibbelin and Hadyn Nibbelin.
Fresh off of a nice performance from the Colorado Classic (our in house competition) and a Turkey Challenge First Place finish, Abigail is looking to improve on the numbers she hit in early November. Zach looks to improve on his stellar and PR filled performance from early November as well while he continues to pick up some valuable platform experience. Logan and Hadyn are fresh off a successful championship football season and are now getting back into lifting heavy things.
The foursome will be competing across the two sessions for the Youth Championships with the first weigh in beginning at 8 am (Abigail) and the second weigh in beginning at 10 am (Zach, Logan and Haydn). We can’t wait to see how our awesome athletes do. Our Youth Team works harder than anyone in the facility and we’re excited to watch them compete again.
If you are interested in driving up to support the team please check out Colorado Youth Weightlifting for more information on the venue address, start times and results. We hope to see you there!
